This walking cane is a very useful household item!  It can be made with various woods and some variation in the handle (photo: iliahi wood)  Depending on the piece of wood used, the shaft may be slightly bowed (as in this photo) but will nevertheless be very strong.  To some degree, the length can be customized to the user.
